Pet-soiled silk rugs, discolored oriental rugs, musty-smelling wool rugs… you name it; we’ll EcoClean it.
Curious about how it’s done? We’re taking you behind the scenes of our rug bath process.
- Every cleaning kicks off with a phone consultation to discuss an estimate and pickup time. To save 10%, customers can drop their rugs off at our warehouse!
- Once we receive a rug, it’s thoroughly examined. We document every spot, speck, or stain by taking several photos.
- For an effective cleanse, it’s important to know what type of rug fibers we’re working with. With a fiber identification test, we analyze 3 areas of the rug to determine the exact material. The results help us create a “game plan” where we decide which treatments to use.
Then, it’s time to get to work.
Here’s a breakdown of how we transform musty, stained, or damaged rugs into confidently clean floor décor:
Step 1: Remove Solids.
To efficiently draw out dirt and debris, the rug is beaten and vacuumed.
Step 2: Pre-Treat.
Rug fibers are pre-treated with the appropriate shampoos and solutions. The products are chosen based on the outcome of the fiber identification test.
Step 3: Agitate.
To follow the pre-treatment, the rug is soaked with pet and family-friendly detergent. Depending on the rug material, we either hand scrub or use a variety of agitation machines to massage the soap deep into the fibers – never missing a spot.
Step 4: Rinse.
The rug is hosed down with cool water.
Step 5: Extract Moisture.
With the help of a squeegee and our truck-mounted high-powered vacuum system, we carefully remove excess water from the rug.
Step 6: Evaluate.
To meet EcoClean standards, we double and triple check the rug to see if there are any areas that need extra attention. We’ll repeat the extraction process until we’re 100% satisfied with the look and feel of the rug.
Step 7: Compare.
Once the rug is polished and perfected, we take photo documentation. The pictures are used to compare the results with the photos that were taken when the rug first entered our facility. The difference is like night and day, and we love to see it!
Step 8: Dry.
We move the rug to our climate-controlled drying chamber and allow it to dry completely.
Step 9: Groom.
We love a good fluff – that’s why the rug is combed and brushed once it’s dry. We’ll also add a protector or deodorizer if necessary.
Step 10: The Finale.
To seal the deal, the freshly cleaned rug is wrapped in plastic. Then, we’ll schedule a time for pick-up or delivery. A happy rug goes home to a happy customer. Every time.
